ACTIVITIES

Mindful of the fact that a fit child is more likely to be physically and mentally sharp  , at DPS Sharjah Primary much stress is laid on physical education and fitness.  

 

The Sports Gala, Kinder Sports Day, and Sports Fest are fun-filled events organized for students from Pre-KG to Grade 5. These lively celebrations include a variety of timed games and fun races, thoughtfully designed around socially relevant themes. The efforts and enthusiasm of the children are recognized with medals and certificates that celebrate participation and achievement.

 

Teachers and parents also actively participate in special races, adding joy and motivation to the day’s events.

EARTH DAY

Nurture the Nature. With this theme in mind, DPS Sharjah marks the beginning of the activity calendar for the primary wing. Together with our parent community, an array of creative activities we organize on 22nd April with a view to sensitize the children about the conservation of natural resources and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful. Excited Dipsites work with everyone in community towards keeping our environment green and clean, and to make the world a better place in which to live.

ACCOLADES

To be a scholar badge holder is the dream of every Dipsite from grade IV onwards. The word 'scholar' as it means stands for someone who has achieved merit, and we at DPS Sharjah celebrate the success of such children right from the age of eight or nine. Students who have excelled in academics, co- scholastic activities, or those who have exceptional work habits or remarkable personality traits are recognised and honoured at this very special ceremony. This event, held annually is attended by the parent community of the outstanding achievers. The awards are given away by an eminent personality.  To wear a scholar tie is indeed a matter of pride for every student of the school!

ENVIRONMENT DAY

World Environment day is celebrated on June 5th at DPS Sharjah to raise the importance of having a clean, healthy and  green environment. Through its environmental endeavors, DPS strives hard to present to this world a batch of environment conscious, responsible citizens who can proactively involve themselves in providing solutions to environmental problems at the forefront as well as practice a sustainable lifestyle.

SPORTS GALA

“Success isn’t given. It’s earned. On the track, on the field, in the gym with sweat and the occasional tears.” Delhi Private School, Sharjah primary wing hosted the Inter-House Athletic meet for the onsite students of Grades 3 to 5. 

 

Various track and field events were held, and athletes displayed their best competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

NATIONAL PRIDE

The children celebrate and rejoice in being a part of two great nations -The UAE  and India. 2nd December, National Day is celebrated as Arabic Day and 26th January Republic day is dedicated to India. 

 

Children showcase the culture- dress, food, dance and music. They also learn about the various contributions of the great leaders of both the  countries.

ANNUAL EVENTS

At DPS Sharjah, we cherish every moment of our students’ journey—especially the memories made beyond the classroom! Our Fun & Bonding Days for Grades 3 and 4 are all about laughter, friendship, and unforgettable experiences. These special days are designed to give our young learners a break from the routine, with engaging activities, team-building games, and joyful moments that help strengthen bonds with parents, students and teachers alike. It’s a celebration of togetherness, growth, and pure fun! 

 

As our Grade 5 students prepare to step into the middle school years, we honour them with a heartwarming Graduation Day celebration. It’s a proud moment for every student, marking their achievements, memories, and readiness for the next chapter. Dressed in caps and gowns, they take the stage with pride—cheered on by their friends, teachers, and family.

INTER HOUSE COMPETITIONS

At DPS Sharjah, we believe in nurturing talent and building team spirit from an early age. Our Inter House Competition for students of Grades 3 to 5 offer an exciting opportunity for young learners to showcase their abilities and discover new passions. Each student is encouraged to participate in one event, choosing from a vibrant selection of cultural or sporting activities. Whether it’s performing on stage or competing in athletic challenges, every child is a valued participant in their house’s journey toward excellence. These events are designed not only to promote healthy competition but also to foster creativity, confidence, and collaboration among peers. Let the spirit of sportsmanship and celebration shine!

GRATIS

We are blessed to have a very efficient ancillary staff team that works for the school round the clock. Each ancillary staff member is dedicated to the job and collectively works as a family. We at school sincerely appreciate the efforts of the ancillary staff by organizing an 'Appreciation Day'. Students in their own special way say 'thank you' to their 'uncles' and 'aunties' as they are called by them in school. Small tokens of appreciation and cards are gifted to them. 

A Smiley Canteen is organised by the children. The food is prepared by the children in school and distributed by them to each member of the ancillary staff. Indeed our school would be incomplete without their constant support and help.

DEW (Drop Everything for Wellness)

Opinions                                 

An annual signature event of Delhi Private School, Sharjah, an open forum facilitated for the student community of DPS Sharjah and the other international schools and colleges across all emirates in UAE. In the past years, this event has gained momentum and prominence amongst the student community in UAE, as it provides them the unique opportunity and the platform to physically interact with prominent professionals and leaders from varied industries and interests.

 

Deliberations between prominent professionals & industry experts, on pertinent topics relevant to the hour, has enabled the Senior school students and faculty, the much needed real life connect and deeper insight of the concerned tabled topic, through the diverse perceptions of the convened panel.  

Investiture Ceremony                                              

marks the formal delegation of authority to the elected students’ council. The prefects brim with confidence to shoulder the responsibility assigned to them and take over the responsibility with discipline and dignity. The Investiture Ceremony aims to give recognition to our pupil leaders for their contribution and commitment to the school.

 

The Investiture Ceremony in DPS Sharjah is held every year in the beginning of the new academic year in the school premises with elegance and style. The ceremony begins with reciting of Holy Quran. The principal’s speech inspires and motivates the young hearts and ignites in them an enthusiasm to take up their responsibility.

 

The office bearers walk on the red carpet with pride and self confidence and accept the badges of responsibility from the chief guests. Once all the office bearers receive their sashes and badges take the oath to fulfil the responsibility with utmost honesty.

Scholar Badge Ceremony                                                     

is an honour which is bestowed on students who have shown exemplary academic achievements during a particular academic session. Besides academic performances, students are also awarded for excellence in co-curricular activities, exhibiting exceptional personality traits and remarkable work habits. 

 

The students are also awarded academics and sports scholarships. The Scholar Badge Ceremony aims to give recognition to our students and motivate them for greater success.

Inter House Activities  

To boost the talent and explore the hidden potential of students we have a established house system in ourschool.Various inter house competitions are held in the school with the purpose of promoting the acquisition of knowledge through cultural, sports and Recreational activities.

 

The list of cultural activities include one act play, kalamanch, singing, dancing etc. The literary activities include English recitation, spell bee, french art display, math quiz, science quiz  and the sports activities include a series of sports like badminton, chess, table tennis, football, cricket, basket ball, Swimming etc. A rolling trophy is awarded at the end of academic year to the winning house.

Sports Activities                                             

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy…An adage that is oft quoted and so true. Dipsites participate in a host of sports activities the whole year round.                                              

 

  • The Sundeep Batavia memorial Cricket, Basketball and Table tennis events take place every year.
  • Also DPS participates in numerous inter school tournaments and our students have won many accolades at these meets.
  • The UAE Cluster for CBSE Atheletic Nationals held at Chennai.
  • Under 16 years Girls 4X100M relay CBSE Nationals
  • Under 19 years Girls Badminton in the CBSE Nationals held at Hyderabad.
  • Under 19 years  CBSE Nationals Basketball for  Boys and Girls at Jaipur.
  • The CBSE under 14 Chess Nationals held at Indore.

Sundeep Batavia Memorial Tournament                  

DPS has always taken immense pride in setting yardsticks, which have for long been an inspiration to others. The school is well known for the mammoth events it holds and one such mega event of the year is the Sundeep Batavia Memorial International Inter School   Basketball, Cricket and Table Tennis Tournaments.

 

This mega event serves as a platform for the students to showcase their ability and exemplify their potential in the sports arena. It sets the stage for them to reveal their latent talent and serve as a benchmark to foster amongst them, a spirit of healthy competition.

 

Schools from all over the UAE and Gulf Region have shown great interest in participating every year and this year the event will witness a surge in participation from international schools, as this has proved to be a wonderful platform for the young sport enthusiasts in the UAE. We have succeeded in our endeavour to make Cricket, Basketball and Table Tennis, well-known sports at the school level.
