THE PROBLEM STATEMENT
Every academic year, many usable textbooks are discarded while students struggle to access required books due to the lack of a coordinated sharing system. This results in paper waste, limited availability of affordable textbooks, dependence on unreliable online platforms, and reduced opportunities for sustainability and equitable access to learning resources.
OBJECTIVE:
To create a centralized, student-driven platform that promotes the reuse of textbooks, reduces paper waste, and ensures timely and reliable access to books for students from Grades 1 to 12.
PROPOSED SOLUTION:
Bookive is a student-led digital platform that enables the secure buying, selling, and donation of used textbooks through verified school logins, structured exchanges, and an escrow-based payment system linked via the school website..
FEATURES:
· Verified access: DPS Sharjah students only
· Flexible exchange: on-campus points, Bookive Days, peer-to-peer
· Secure payments: escrow system (80% seller, 20% platform)
· Sustainability dashboard: track books exchanged & students helped
· Recognition: badges & certificates for donations

Minimize paper waste by encouraging textbook reuse
