Students often leave for reasons such as going to the washroom or bookshop, sometimes taking advantage of these exits to miss classes. While students are required to carry an out-pass, a more efficient and reliable system is needed to track their movements, reduce confusion, and mitigate potential safety risks. This will ensure that students leave only when necessary and return promptly.
The Big Idea Solution
Pass Pro is designed to make managing student movement easier and safer. Instead of relying on outdated manual out-passes, this system introduces a digital approach, allowing real-time tracking of students outside the classroom. Teachers can issue and manage passes effortlessly through a dedicated portal, ensuring that every exit is logged and accounted for. With biometric verification, students can only step out when authorized, preventing unnecessary absences while ensuring that those who genuinely need to leave can do so without delays.
Proposed Innovation
The Pass Pro system consists of two essential components: the Pass Portal and the Pass Pro biometric device. The Pass Portal is an easy-to-use, web-based platform for teachers to log student exits, noting details like name, class, purpose, and duration, ensuring a clear record of movements. The Pass Pro biometric device, installed at key locations across the school, scans students’ fingerprints or IDs, verifying their identity and reason for exit. This simple yet effective system minimizes misuse, enhances security, and offers a practical, scalable, and student-friendly solution to a long-standing issue.
